FAQ: Can I Buy a Metal Detector or Gold Prospecting Equipment from High Plains Prospectors Using Venmo?

FAQ: Can I Buy a Metal Detector or Gold Prospecting Equipment from High Plains Prospectors Using Venmo?

Yes, you can!  After receiving a call from a customer asking if we can take payments via Venmo, I dug in and did some research.

Basically Venmo can be used for checkout since we have Paypal checkout enabled. However, the customer must have the setting approved within their Venmo app.  In the Venmo app/settings there is slider/setting to "allow online purchases"

Since we are based in the US, and already support PayPal Checkout, Venmo will automatically appear as a payment option for buyers who have chosen to use Venmo as a payment option.

To opt in and purchase things online with Venmo, tap on the ☰ icon at the top of the app, then tap on Settings. In Settings, there's the Buying section. To use Venmo to pay during checkout, tap Enable Mobile Web Purchase or Connect Browsers.

It should be noted though that Venmo isn't on the surface. The buyer has to click Paypal & then Venmo is an option.

Where to Metal Detect - Old Sidewalk, Parking Lot, and Curb Tear-Outs

Where to Metal Detect - Old Sidewalk, Parking Lot, and Curb Tear-Outs

For those of you that live in older areas of the world which have been paved over with sidewalks, parking lots, and curbs, there are great targets - literally untouched, right under your feet.  Getting to them however is often a waiting game.

From time to time concrete and asphalt might be completely torn out to make way for replacement.  Since most sidewalks are public property, that means they are ripe for the picking once they are torn out.  Parking lots, if on private property may require permission.  Curbs on the other hand...
FAQ: Can you replace the batteries on a Minelab Equinox Metal Detector? - YES!

FAQ: Can you replace the batteries on a Minelab Equinox Metal Detector? - YES!

Yes!  You can replace the rechargeable batteries in your Minelab Equinox Metal Detector!

I know I kind of gave away the answer to this FAQ in the heading but there is more to it than that.  For years, when a customer had a battery issue with their Minelab Equinox 600 or Equinox 800 metal detectors, the response was to contact the manufacturer.  When your metal detector is under warranty, this is sometimes the smarter route.  With Minelab's 3-year warranty, any issues during that period are typically, and usually promptly, taken care of.  But, what if your metal detector is out of its warranty period?

Sure, Minelab's support definitely extends beyond 3 years.  But, repairs after the warranty ends will often incur a charge.  Plus, there is that valuable detecting time that you might miss by having to ship your detector off for repair.  Now, that has all changed....

Minelab Announces Next-Generation Multi-Frequency Technology

New high-power Multi-IQ+ helps metal-detecting hobbyists and treasure-hunting professionals find and discriminate targets in the ground better and easier than ever

Chicago, IL (September 20, 2022) - Metal detectors used to work on a single frequency. That means one could typically find a limited range of metals at one time. Then, switchable multi-frequency detectors were introduced that allowed detectorists to find multiple types of treasure. The only problem was that treasure hunters needed to know in advance what they were looking for.

Everything changed when Minelab – the world leader in metal detecting technologies – pioneered simultaneous multi-frequency technology. For the first time ever, detectorists could use...
