Whenever we have a customer in looking to outfit themselves with a complete package that will get them outside and offer them the best chance of success metal detecting, one of the first pieces of equipment I discuss is a pinpointer.  

A pinpointer, for those that don't know, is a small handheld metal detector that will help you really hone in on the exact location of a metal item.  For the hobby of metal detecting, it will help you locate and recover targets quicker and more efficiently.  They are used world wide for other purposes though.  We have sold them to people looking for metal in wood before they ran it through a mill or a saw.  They are awesome stud finders for nails in wood studs or wood studs beneath drywall.  I have even heard of people using a pinponter to find the slug or shot from a bullet in game animals they harvested - works for small game as well as large game.

A small handheld metal detector or "pin pointer" is a useful tool for any consumer's daily use.  For a treasure hunter it is an essential tool.  It will help you recover more targets quicker.  At the end of the day, the guy with the most trash typically has the most treasure.
