Maryland Militia Sword Belt Plate Found in Westminster, Maryland Metal Detecting

Steven C. just submitted this very interesting find. He found this Maryland Militia sword belt plate in Westminster, MD at a relatives property, dating to 1850+/-. The buckles were made in Massachusetts in 1851 for the militia. The original owner of the property fought for the Confederates during the Civil War and retired afterwards.
Steven says, "Everything I used to find it was bought at High Plains Prospectors. I used my Garrett AT Pro, Garrett Carrott, and a White’s Digmaster shovel. It rang up at a solid 92 and was about 9” down. Valued between $5000-$8000. It’s going to be difficult to top that find!!"
Thanks for the submission Steve! Congratulations, you just qualified for a $5 store credit for your submission! You will receive an email shortly with the information you need to redeem it.
