High-Capacity Gold Panning

The 15-inch diameter provides room for larger samples than a compact finishing pan. This makes the SuperSluice especially useful during the early stages of panning, when the goal is to quickly reduce a substantial amount of gravel into a manageable concentrate.

Garrett’s traditional green color provides excellent contrast against yellow gold, making flakes and small nuggets easier to identify during the final stages of panning. The color also offers useful contrast against dark black-sand concentrates.

How to Use

Fill the pan only to a manageable level and completely submerge the material. Break apart clay and compacted material by hand, then shake the pan from side to side to allow dense gold to settle toward the bottom.

Tilt the pan forward and use controlled washing motions to remove lighter gravel across the riffles. Periodically level and restratify the remaining material. As the sample becomes smaller, reduce the speed and intensity of each motion to avoid losing fine gold.

For best results, classify material before final cleanup and inspect tailings while learning the pan’s preferred angle and motion.
