I have been using a regular shovel for years but always had trouble with tree roots when digging around wooded areas. Was in High Plains Prospectors the other day and seen the gravedigger tools with the serrated edges and thought this could be the answer to my root problem, bought the tombstone spade, took it out detecting a few days later. It worked very well on cutting roots as I dug the plug around the target area. I would recommend it for anyone that digs in wooded areas.
