I had mixed results from my first test. The magnet works as advertised. However, when I spun it, barely faster than the slowest possible speed, something inside seemed to break loose and created a terrible clatter and vibration. This happened intermittently and I had no way to control the issue. Also, the spinning shaft makes contact with the end of the plastic cup and adds to the vibration. I would like to take the thing apart, but don't see any way to do that, except to drill out a tiny pin in he cap with no guarantee this would allow the cap to be removed. Overall, I,m frustrated with a potentially excellent tool.
