Power Header Box for 12" Sluice Box With Hose

I'm using this 12" Power Header Box on a Dream Mat 12"x47" sluice with a Vortex Dream Mat. This mat runs best at 9+ degrees slope with about 1 inch of water above the mat, requiring minimum 100 gallons per minute flow rate. This header box does a decent job of taming this torrent of input water, using a baffle to disperse the flow into a 12" wide stream. The water comes into the box through a 3/4" i.d. PVC fitting. This baffle system can't clog like a spray-bar diffuser might, and provides minimal resistance to the water inflow. I can recommend this header box for a high flow rate system, and it should also work well at lower flow rates. Just one quibble: it should come with a pair of stainless steel screws and wingnuts for attachment to the sluice box. The zinc plated ones that came with the unit are already rusting after only two weeks use.

If using a 12" wide sluice box the header box is about 1/16 to big due to the rivets. Filed the rivets down and welded tacks to the aluminum. Unit was able to fit correctly. Had some leaking issues, applied silicone where needed. Overall great product. Works just as it was made to work.
