This handbook has been under research since the early 1970's and covers from Portland to Cow Creek south of Canyonville. The author covers little known gold occurrences to the most widely known with an emphasis on places to pan w/o a claim. Nine maps give directions and locations of placer mining areas and some lode mine. Many chapters give a mile by mile tour through the mining area and specific observations and first hand mining experiences.
