Beginner Metal Detectors Best Sellers

Beginner Metal Detectors Best Sellers

There are different levels of metal detecting experience.  This requires different levels of metal detectors to accommodate that experience.  If you purchase a detector that is too elementary for your skill level, you will quickly get frustrated by the lack of technology and your detector will simply end up collecting dust in the attic.  Likewise, if you purchase a metal detector that is too advanced for your skill level, it will end up in the same place.

At High Plains Prospectors, we recommend using a metal detector that fits your specific needs and skill level.  For the average metal detectorist, there is no need to over-spend.  Sometimes buying the best of the best will simply end up being a waste of money.  We recommend beginners start with an beginner to intermediate metal detector.  This allows you to learn the overall principles of metal detecting and the general use of your metal detector.  You can always upgrade later and your detector will hold its value better than you think it will.  We also recommend hanging onto your lower level metal detector for two main reasons.  First, it is always good to have a backup.  Nothing ruins a trip quicker than a faulty detector and not having one to fall back on.  Additionally, having an extra metal detector always allows you to invite someone along.  It can also help you gain access to a property by having a metal detector for the property owner to join you in the hunt.

Below is a list of metal detectors we feel meet the requirements for beginners.  They are simple to turn on and go.  Not too advanced where it will confuse you but enough for you to grow with for a while before needing to upgrade.
