I'm still learning and adjusting the settings on this machine, (as we do with all new machines) but it is proving to be the lightest, best performing machine I've used throughout the last 30+ years. I received the PWR NOX and Andy Sabisch's book on the Equinox when I purchased it. Both have proven invaluable and would highly recommend new users purchase both. I haven't been out long enough (unfortunately) to totally drain the main battery, but I haven't had to worry knowing I have the PWR-NOX attached. I would recommend reviewing some of the videos on YouTube to shorten the "learning curve" with this machine Overall, VERY satisfied.
I've used this now for a few months and love having the extra power. I don't know if it is water proof or not but should be if it isn't. Why? Because every time I come back home I hose off my 800 and other stuff like shovels, hand tools, etc. as they get pretty dirty. I have noticed that if you leave the battery on the detector and the Minelab cable attached, the cable will corrode over a short period of time and now things don't work. The head unit of the 800 is corrosion proof though. I thought for sure my cable was ruined but was able to clean it up and things were fine. Else RNB needs to come up with a cable that can get wet and maybe shorter so everything can be left in place. I also think putting the charging ports either on the side or the other end is better because trying to turn the Nox 800 upside down to connect cable is a big pain for sure. I personally don't want to have to disassemble things every time I come back home.
Glad to have this lightweight dynamo on my Equinox 800. Installs on the detector in mere seconds, while adding very little weight to the equipment. Now I can search for as long as I want without worrying that my battery might run out.
I was out detecting recently and had to stop detecting due to my Nox running out of power, as I did not have time to charge it fully. I did not want that to happen again, so I purchased the RNB PWR-NOX. Charged it. Hooked it up and it works great. Gave me tons of extra hours per charge. I wrap the chord around the detector shaft to keep it from dangling in the way. Great item! Highly recommended.
Very light, gives a good amount of extra power, mounts quite easily and out of the way. Maybe a short cord would be nice, but otherwise if it lasts certainly well worth it.
