Up until The Gold Monster 1000 metal detector, there has always been a compromise between frequency and sensitivity when optimizing detector performance, because lower frequencies are more sensitive to larger gold nuggets and higher frequencies are more sensitive to smaller gold nuggets. Most detectors will find a very large nugget just beneath the surface, The Gold Monster 1000 operates at an intermediate 45kHz and a high-speed 24-bit signal processor giving it the perfect balance to find gold of all sizes with a great range of depth.

Great shallow bedrock detector!

Great detector for shallow bedrock. Easy to put together and easy to set up. Pretty much turn on. Ground balance, and start detecting. Found 4 Tiny nuggets first time out.

finding treasure

As a rookie/entry level prospector, I bought the minelab gold monster with extra gear. The folks at High Plains got the order out in a timely manner and at a great price during the trying times of COVID! Although I haven't had opportunity to use all the gear due to weather, it looks like it will work well and I appreciate having it. Very happy with the service and will probably buy some more from them once I start finding the motherlode. Until then, I anticipate having fun learning to use the gold monster, enjoying the great outdoors, and of course, coming up with wild stories to tell the next generation while searching for Eldorado! Gold adventure beats internet/tv content any day of the week.... with shared adventures will come treasure... hopefully some of that treasure will have monetary value. Thank you High Plains/Minelab!

No gold

Not the gold monster

With the minelabs gold monster being on indefinite back order, I switched to the gold bug 2... Also got a Fisher F pulse pinpoint detector, got to play around with both for a little bit last night, and while the gold bug did everything I expected, the big surprise was the F pulse, on its most sensitive setting it was picking up very small gold (screened to minus 20) at almost 9" away, and the audio discrimiation was very easy to tell iron and aluminum from gold.... can't wait to try them out in the field!

Also the extra gear is very nice quality.

You guys are now my go to prospecting supply shop, I'm very impressed
