Minelab has become the metal detector of choice for serious relic and treasure hunters. The Equinox 800 is a robust, fully submersible, lightweight detector offering Minelab’s Multi-IQ detection engine. Multi-IQ revolutionized metal detectors by combining the search capabilities of multiple detectors into one. Multi-IQ works by utilizing multiple detection frequencies at the same time to identify targets in salty, mineralized or trashy soil. No more carrying multiple detectors or wondering what you missed because your detector only focuses on one target type. The Equinox 800 is ideal for detecting on beaches, along river banks, lake shores or out in the field.
I’ve only gotten to use my new Equinox a couple of times since the purchase so far so good. I ordered the package with the Pro-Find 35. The website said it was in stock. After I placed the order, several days later, I received a phone call stating that the Pro-Find 35 had been out of stock for approximately 6 months and was on back order from MineLab. I was asked if I would accept a “better” pointer. I was told it would be a Garrett and if I wasn’t satisfied I could ship it back and then I could wait for a Pro Find 35 to come back into stock. I’ve had the set up for about 30 days. Both work fine but my OCD twitches every time I pull out the Garrett pointer. Would have given 5 stars if the pointer I ordered would have been in stock like the website said it was. And if I would have known the Pro Find wasn’t in stock ahead of my order I would have just bought the Equinox 800 closer to home.
