To Find Real Treasure - Sometimes You Have to Get Off The Beaten Path

Although going places where others may not want to go may seem like a lot of work, it is exactly what you may need to do to find the treasure others are not willing to search for. Briar patches, mosquitoes, ticks, mud, and rough terrain are just a small part of what you may encounter. Depending on where you are, you could possibly encounter much more daunting threats.

Metal Detecting Pre-Hunt Checklist - Don't Forget These Items!

Well, this last weekend, I took my step son out to metal detect and forgot one key piece of equipment - Backup Batteries. A couple hours into the hunt, my batteries pooped out and we were quite a ways from a place to purchase them.

This got me thinking about putting together a checklist of items (other than the essential items) that one could use prior to each metal detecting hunt to make the hunt not only more successful, but also more enjoyable.
